Taxpayers in Mexico are a clear example of how to fulfill their fiscal duties. This Monday, the Tax Administration Service (SAT) announced that a record was reached in April for annual tax filings, with over 11.44 million taxpayers submitting their returns.

This figure represents a 7% increase (equivalent to 752,684 more) compared to the same month in 2024. Of this total, 7.93 million individuals requested a refund for the income tax (ISR), indicating a 6% rise from last year. The SAT also reported that it has issued refunds totaling 35.335 billion pesos (mdp), which is a 5% increase compared to the previous period, although no details were provided on how many taxpayers benefited from these resources. In a statement, it was mentioned: "The SAT values those who meet their tax responsibilities and thus contribute to the economy and growth of the country."

It is encouraging to see an increase in tax compliance, as this not only reflects responsibility but also citizens' commitment to the welfare of the country. Proper tax filing is crucial for financing public services and sustainable development. A robust tax system can lead to more investment in infrastructure and improvements in social welfare.
