Sheinbaum y Trump dialogan de forma prometedora sobre el comercio

The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, noted on Thursday that she had a "constructive" conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, and both agreed on the need to continue collaborating to improve the trade balance between their countries.

“We agreed that the heads of Finance and Treasury, as well as Economy and Commerce, will be working in the coming days on options to optimize our trade balance and move forward on pending issues, always in the interest of our nations,” she stated on her X account. This announcement comes after Trump signed a decree aimed at reducing tariffs for the automotive industry and preventing excessive accumulation. The Mexican government deemed the executive orders signed by Donald Trump regarding tariffs in the automotive sector as progress and a recognition of the North American trade agreement. “The United States is very interested in reducing the deficit,” Claudia Sheinbaum explained during her morning briefing. “And we have proposed that we explore ways, across the entire economy, to increase purchases from the United States,” she detailed.

Such dialogues between Mexico and the United States are crucial for facilitating a healthier trade environment. The collaboration between both governments not only aims to balance trade but can also strengthen supply chains. We need to pay attention to how these negotiations could impact not just specific industries, but the economy as a whole.
